Churches in Hebden Royd Parish

St James the Great, Hebden Bridge

Church Lane Hebden Bridge

http://www.stjameshebdenbridge.com

We meet in this Victorian church building which has connections with the Brontes and the Listers of Shibden Hall through it's first Vicar, The Rev'd Sutcliffe  Sowden.  A Grade 2 listed building, the church building has a fine set of windows and a wall pairing of the annunciation. It also has a splendid Italianate reredos ( not visible in Lent).

We are part of Churches Together In Hebden, and enjoy fellowship with the other churches in Hebden Bridge.

The local community is important to us and we have strong relationships with Mytholmroyd Meadows, Hebden Royd Primary School, and various organisations in Hebden Bridge.

This is a diverse community and we offer a very warm welcome to all.  This beautiful and historic parish includes the town, villages and farmsteads around Hebden Bridge.

A small but vibrant village church nestling in a deep Pennine valley. A mixture of people of all ages, stages and jobs.
Everyone tells us that we are a friendly church with traditional worship but unafraid to laugh, mostly at ourselves!

Sanctuary in the Wilderness  - restarting on June 5th with Wilderness Worship

Many of us, at some point in our lives, suffer isolation, loneliness, poor health and life events which may lead to a reduction in our well-being. We hope that the activities offered will provide a place for anyone needing a listening ear, a kind word, a new challenge, some company or a change of scene and also for those who can offer to help provide these things.
